Ron was born and raised in North Idaho, between Coeur D' Alene and the Montana border in the mining community of Kellogg. He helped his family operate a Mom-and-Pop Grocery, worked as a hard rock miner, carpenter, salesman, business owner and jailer. He relocated to Alaska with his wife Betty, where they settled in, built a log home and Ron learned to fly. He retired from the Alaska Department of Corrections and did a tour with security on the Trans-Alaska Pipeline. He spends his free time fishing, building furniture for friends, enjoying Alaska and family time. Alaska has been his home for over 50 years and will always be.
